Q. Do you offer off-leash exercise?
A. Yes! We are pleased to announce that we now have access to a private fenced property so that your dog(s) can have a safe and supervised leash-free experience. Small play groups with fully vaccinated, pre-screened & temperment evaluated dogs are also available. Due to insurance and safety concerns, we do not offer off-leash activity at other locations.
Q. Are there any breeds of dogs that you do not work with?
A. We never ever discriminate based on breed. In fact, we are strong opponents of any
BSL (breed specific legislation).
Q. How much do you charge for dog park visits?
A. We do not use dog parks for a number of reasons. If you currently use local dog
parks, we strongly encourage you to read the following article. Our number one goal is
always the safety of the pets in our care. We hope that after you read this article, you
will decide to no longer use dog parks or at least be armed with enough information to
lower your risk when you do use them.
Q. Do you require proof of vaccinations?
A. Yes, but due to the in-home care aspect of sitting, we can be more flexible than a
kennel (if old enough, dogs and cats must have proof of rabies vaccination). In the case of
puppies under 4 months old that have not finished their vaccine series, we can do playtime
in the home or in your yard; we will not go for walks to minimize disease exposure.
We do accept titers. Please do let us know if you have any specific concerns.
Q. What does “licensed” actually mean?
A. Petsitting/Pet Sitting is not licensed by a governing board in California. When a petsitter
claims to be “licensed”, therefore, he/she is referring to a basic business operation license.
For sitters based within the city limits of Sacramento, that would be a Home Occupation
Permit and the Business Tax License. Sitters based in the unincorporated areas of
Sacramento County have different business licensing requirements. These licenses permit
the holder to run a business out of their home and pay taxes on that business but do
not regulate or oversee the business of petsitting/pet sitting in any other way.
Q. My dog is on a raw diet. Do you feed raw?
A. Sits are designed to keep your pet’s habits as close to normal as possible. Whether
you feed raw, kibble, canned, or homemade, we will feed your pets the same way that
you do.
Q. I need to catch a flight at 5am and don’t have time to stop by the store to pick up
my cat’s food before I go. What should I do?
A. We are happy to pick up the food for you. You would be charged the cost of the
food plus a small delivery charge.
Q. My cat has recently had surgery and needs someone to watch her during the day
while I am at work is this something you can do?
A. Yes, I will be happy to do this for you and your cat, schedule permitting.
Q. Do you know pet CPR?
A. Yes! I will be happy to show you my American Red Cross Pet First Aid &CPR
certification cards upon our initial visit.
Q. Has your background been checked?
A. Yes it has! My fingerprints are on file with the DOJ through Live Scan. As a CA
Registered Process Server, I am required to have a background clearance on file.
Q. My partner and I feel it’s important to find a petsitter that is comfortable with the
LGBTQ community. Are you okay with that?
A. I understand your concerns. I have absolutely zero qualms about working with
anyone from any background.
Q. I have a wonderful dog and am thinking about breeding. Do you have any
suggestions to help me get started?
A. We do! First, we suggest you review this chart and see where you fit in. Next, if you
still choose to pursue breeding, please do contact your dog’s breeder and discuss ways
in which you can prove your dog. We are in total support of responsible breeders and
would love to see more of them.

A. There are advantages and disadvantages to both. Please go here to see some of those
differences. Generally speaking, pets that are able to be left home alone (not those that
suffer from separation anxiety) do well with pet sitters. Pets that cannot be left alone
for any length of time often are a better fit for a facility. Cage-free facilities are only
an option for dogs that can pass the facilities’ temperament test.
